As our vision states - we believe in continually aspiring to be: 

                             "Simply the Best!"

Located in the heart of Kaiti, Gisborne, Ilminster was opened in 1960 and clocked 50 years in 2010.

Ilminster draws on a range of contributing schools in the area and caters for a diverse range of students.  We are proud of our school, board and community and boast to have had and have some of the most talented and creative young people in our local community.

Ilminster firmly believes in the New Zealand wide vision of having confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners and its unique centre approach to learning gives students the opportunity to make decisions about learning from the outset - when they select which centre they wish to start their 'Ilminster Learning Journey' in.

A willing and committed board, staff and interested community ensure that what matters, is possible,  for all its students.

 

September 2014:  The Education Review's concluding statement stated:

"Ilminster Intermediate provides a positive and inclusive environment.  The curriculum offers wide experiences and options to cater for students' strengths, interests and engagement in learning.  Students make good progress in relation to National Standards for reading, writing and mathematics.  Senior leaders and trustees seek continuous improvement to promote positive outcomes for students."

ERO is likely to carry out the next review in four to five years.
